Today's world crisis challenges you to think BIG

Why is the time ripe to take global action?

1. Failing to do so is to risk the outcome of the present headlong rush toward human and environmental destruction.
2. Survivors in regions of ongoing national and religious wars are eager for some solution to their predicaments.
3. In every nation there are emerging organizations and individuals working for peace, human rights, and a healthy environment. Acting separately and within their national political frameworks they are constantly frustrated. At the first sign of serious global action some of these may be expected to add their efforts to a movement for global change. Housman's Peace Directory lists over 2000 such groups in 150 nations.
4. Youth in many nations, eager for challenge and excitement now turn to drugs and violence. Many of these would gladly participate in a challenging global grassroots change movement.
5. Members of religious groups will see the Movement as consistent with the universal teachings of their religions which teach worship of a Universal Life-giver and Creator.
6. World gatherings, initiated by the United Nations and some national political leaders have in the past decade addressed such subjects as the status of women and the needs of the environment. Major social concerns are now being seen on the highest political levels as global issues.
7. The General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) indicates the recognition by profit-seekers of their global community. Their global interests, however, are not necessarily those of consumers, workers and the underprivileged. Acquiring, not Caring, is their dominant value. It is time for the world's CARERS for human and environmental well-being to stand up on a global level.

8. There is nothing to hinder, no valid excuse for postponing the initiation of a Global Grassroots Movement!
